I had a tummy tuck with muscle repair done by Dr. Mariam Awada 2 weeks ago, and already I look as if I am seventeen again. Now I am rounded and perfectly proportioned. My stomach is flat and looks so much better than before. My breasts are perfectly proportioned to the rest of my figure, the scarring from the lift is healing very well and I believe that within one years time it will be very difficult to see the scars. I have healed very well and once able to actually feel the breasts I can honestly say that I cannot tell from touch that there is an implant. For many years I avoided looking in the mirror because I hated seeing what child bearing had done to me. I am a 29 year old recently divorced mother of three beautiful kids and for the past 7 years have been very conscience about my body due to the stretched skin that hung from my abdomen.

Dear Dr. Awada and staff,

Two months ago I underwent two surgeries, a tummy tuck and an arm lift. The tummy tuck was much easier than the arm lift, but both left me with renewed confidence and a new body.

My story is the same as many others out there. I was an overweight child from age 8 and turned into an obese, size 24 adult. Therefore, at age 27, I had a Gastric Bypass Surgery and now have maintained a 130-pound weight loss (about 8 years now). However, I had a large amount of sagging skin on my arms and around my stomach that no amount of exercise could help.

You, Dr. Awada, performed the two surgeries and now I look wonderful. For the first time since I was 5 years old (about 30 years ago), my stomach saw sunshine because I put on my first two piece bathing suit. My scars of course, were not all the way healed, but I was excited about my new shape and unashamed of the scars that have resulted (which will soon be almost gone and look like stretch marks).

You and your staff have been very encouraging through out the entire process. It is not easy standing naked to have your body marked or pictures taken, but your office showed no disgust and was very professional and understanding. You and your staff patiently answered all of my questions, no matter how insignificant they might have seemed. Your compassion and empathy helped me feel comfortable in what is undoubtedly a very uncomfortable situation.

After the surgery, I felt like a whole new person and have even ventured to try things that I normally would not have tried due to my imperfections. I now wear shirts that show my arms and my stomach. I enjoy being able to do this and feel years younger too because the clothes that are in style now look better on my body.

Therefore, thank you and your staff for doing such an outstanding job! More importantly, thank you for your encouragement and treating me like the person I know that I can be! My life has been made so much fuller by taking this positive step. I also want to encourage any person that may read this to trust Dr. Awada and her judgment and skill.
